I've always wanted to do this. And I found an opportunity to do so. I was going through a folder filled with all my old Gorillaz art that has been since deleted off dA.
I came across this old drawing which was uploaded to dA on the 24 of October 2004, which was called "Sleazy 2D". I remember it clearly, It was drawn on notebook paper, scanned in, then digitized in OpenCanvas 1.1 with a mouse.
I felt a rush of nostalgia the other night looking at this picture. All the found memories of 2004. Then I wondered. How would this look now, if I redrew it in Phase 1 style? Thus I launched Sai and just drew. And there we go. Same drawing, just 10 years later.
